Talent of the month: MILLI MILLS

Milli Mills (a.k.a. Mildred Batts) received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) in Speech and Theater with a concentration in Communication in 1988. It was 1987 at AM-1590 KYDE when Program Director Marinelle Howard, gave Mildred her first on-air break as a college intern student from UAPB. Mildred patented the on-air alias name ‘Milli Mills’ from legendary east coast Hip-Hop mogul, Melle Mel. Since then, Milli has worked in various broadcast markets as a radio personality in Arkansas, Memphis, and Dallas at various formats.
Since February 2002, Milli has been a weekend radio personality at Citadel Media, (formerly ABC Radio Networks) in Dallas, TX where she can be heard through syndication in various markets across the country on the Adult Contemporary format, Today’s Hits and Yesterday’s Favorites, www.hitsandfavorites.com. After building an extensive radio career, 18 years later Milli obtained a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management on October 20, 2004 from the University of Phoenix to polish up her business savvy. Currently, Milli is enrolled in Walden University’s Doctoral Program pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Education – Teacher Leadership.
Milli is also a Voice-Over Artist, Choreographer, and seasoned actress. She has voiced many local and regional radio and TV commercials mainly in the Arkansas and Memphis markets as well as appeared in a few local and regional TV commercials, performed with the Hip-Hop dance troop, Suave`ious, was an extra in the 1993 Tom Cruise blockbuster movie, The Firm, and was chosen in 1998 by Ebony Magazine as one of the Top 25 ‘Most Successful Black Female Singles’ in America.
